Authors David and Jeanie Stiles Author...   DAVID STILES is a designer/builder and illustrator, and the author of numerous how-to books, including Garden Projects, Rustic Retreats, Tree Houses, Playhouses and Sheds. He is a graduate of The Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy and Pratt Institute where he received his degree in Industrial Design. He has worked for many of the leading architectural firms in New York City and received two awards from the New York Planning Commission for his playground design for handicapped children.

The Authors...   DAVID AND JEANIE STILES have been called America's First Couple of Do-It-Yourself Building Projects.

Together, they have written a total of twenty one (21) "how-to" books on woodworking projects which range from tree houses and forts, to sheds, gazebos, garden houses, cabins and workshops, and have sold over half a million copies.

They have received several awards, among them the ALA’s Notable Children’s Book Award for The Tree House Book, and their articles have appeared in many magazines and newspapers including House Beautiful, Better Homes & Gardens, Country Journal, Country Living, Cottage Life, Heartland USA, HomeMechanix, and The New York Times.

They have appeared on numerous television programs, including HGTV, the Discovery Channel, and The Today Show, during which they built a treehouse in three hours. They divide their time between New York City and East Hampton, New York.
